Putting the 'Fun' into Funding

For many people, mention the word 'poetry', and it's like hitting the 'off' button. But this is where Sylvan and Jeremy are different. Their witty observations and ideas, when performed to an audience, often have people in stitches... for all the right reasons, we might add!

Says Sylvan, 'We appreciate how stressful life can be, and so our poetry is accessible to all - you don't need a degree in English literature to understand it! My own poetry has been likened to that of Pam Ayres, and my performances to Victoria Wood, while Jeremy's satirical style has been described as a kind of 'Jeremy Vine meets Jack Dee'! Often focussing on the issues of the day, he takes no prisoners! If 'political correctness' has outlawed the topic, then you're in for a rare treat here.

'This doesn't mean to say it's offensive, well, not unless you happen to be a politician, a health and safety fanatic, a 'jobsworth' or other bureaucrat! Sometimes laughter is the best response to proposals thrust upon us by the powers that be, and it's official! According to a report in The Sunday Post newspaper in March 2011, laughter really is the best medicine. (And it took a university study to come to that conclusion!)'

If all this tickles your fancy, then why not contact the poets to ask about booking a performance? Apart from any expenses, such as promotion, travel and refreshments, there is absolutely NO FEE! Donations to the Trust are always welcome, but this is up to you. Sylvan and Jeremy ask only that they may sell copies of their work at the performance. And, if you're really lucky, they may even bring a musician along with them! Now that is a great offer.

Should you wish to book the poets to give a performance at your event, please use the Contact the Trust form with your requirements and somebody will be in touch.

'You bring the people, we'll add some fun!' Sylvan and Jeremy
